| - There was a time when yelp had not even been invented yet when I spent countless hours grinding away here. This was my temple of steel. I would leave the NW part of town for a few years short of a decade and have returned to the area.
Back in the day I enjoyed pretty much having the whole building to myself after working a shift. No one taking up space on a bench, the pool, steam room, and parking lot. There is also several racquetball courts and a basketball court.
I dig not having to worry about bringing a work out towel with me. Depending on what time you show up, I like not having to wait for a piece of equipment. Speaking about equipment, there have been some other additions since I previously departed like TRX, new cardio thing-a-magies, sleds, and dump truck tire.
For those who have kids....the child care center appears to be top notch.
The staff is much friendlier than I remember, expect for an older lady who made partial eye contact and did not acknowledge my smile and salutations.
The facilities are clean. On my reunion trip back, the trash cans were full and overflowing but since then all is well.
Now that I am much older and have little time, I am carrying around a gym bag with me. I store it in the locker room. The locker room is clean and accommodating. During the day (GOD! how I miss the night) you might have to dodge an 80+ year old exhibitionist here and there. Good for them for staying active, but if your gonna get into your locker three feet from my face....put a damn towel on!
A great option if you live or are in the immediate area!
