Walking into this restaurant had to be the most awkward exchange at a hostess stand I have ever encountered. There were 4 employees standing behind the counter, 2 hostesses, a manager and a food runner and they all just stared at us. I had to inquire, "Hi?! Um, can we please have a table?" Again all of them unresponsive. One hostess finally replied "three?" And the manager barked a table number at her. So unprofessional. Incredibly unwelcoming.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant is actually really cool. It screams Austin, Texas where the chain is from. I especially appreciated the homage to Elvis, but fail to see the connection.
The food is cheap, basic Tex-Mex served in large portions but nothing worth explaining in detail.
The tres leche cake was the one standout, covered in caramel sauce and extra sweet cream.
I can't say that I would ever return to this or another Chuy's location.
