  • Star Bar gets the job done but can be summed up in one word: meh. Pros: Good location on East Washington Ave. and parking isn't too hard to find. Expansive beer selection with wines and craft cocktails. Modern design with lots of natural light during the day. Good amount of seating. Darts and board games. Cons: No website to see happy hour specials or drink menu, only social media platforms. If you search for them on the Isthmus, they give you the happy hour times. Service. (At least when I go) the bartenders are indifferent to non-regulars, often seen chatting with each other or with friends when someone has been sitting at the bar for awhile without a drink in front of them. Lacks a sense of direction/identity. Is is a neighborhood bar, a hipster/nerd bar..? It lacks a certain sense of atmosphere while you're there. Overall, it's a bar at least worth checking out in that area.
