| - Most of the employees are friendly with the few I'd prefer to avoid. My main issues had to do with not keeping their word and delivering a brand new car with issues that needed addressed.
The first had to do with a discount I qualified for but I did not have the required code at the time. I was told this is not a problem and I had a week to get them the code but would need to sign two contracts in case the code wasn't attainable for some reason. On the second day, I was called and they wanted to see if I had said code, which I didn't, but was told I had until the end of the week. No more than an hour later I receive a call from my bank, who I asked to call me if Yates sent in paperwork, because they were submitting the more expensive sale, even though I was told they would not. When I inquired with Yates, I was told by the manager that they needed to get their money now. This is dishonest and would have been a headache had I not thought to have my bank contact me prior to acting on what Yates sent in.
The second issue had to do with water spots all over the roof of the SUV. I didn't notice the hard water sports that covered the entire roof since the car was dusty upon receipt (we live in a desert after all). These were caused by the guys who spray the cars on the lot off with water but didn't dry the roof. I noticed the spots and called Yates, and they were apologetic and told me to bring the car back, which I did. Yates was kind enough to provide me with a loaner (where the gas light came on within a few minutes of leaving the dealer). A couple days later, I received a call telling my my car is ready to be picked up so I head over and drive my car back home. I wash the car again and guess what... the issue isn't right. Honestly, they were difficult to see since the car was dusty combined with the fact it was under the dark blue canopy. Why was the car so dusty this time? It was due to the fact the car had been finished for an entire day and they didn't call me. Regardless, their first attempt at removing the water spots also resulted in a dent on the roof. I understand things happen but why would you try to deliver the vehicle in this condition? Doesn't anybody check the work before calling the customer a day late? To top it off, the manager wanted to use the dent repair service that you have the option to purchase when you buy the vehicle (with their tint). I opted to not get either but it seems shady to not cover your own mistakes. I dropped the car off a second time and they repaired the dent and removed most of the water spots. To their credit, they offered to partially offset the cost of a professional detail at a place of my choosing. I decided to not take them up on it and detailed the car myself as I simply wanted to cut ties with Yates and move on with my life.
We have many choices when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. My advice is to look elsewhere.
I also recommend reading reviews that Yelp filters out. There are many with negative experiences, as well as some positive, that should be taken into consideration.
