  • If you need to save a lot of bucks on car repair this place is worth a try. I've been taking my cars to ACR since the early 90's and I've always been satisfied with the end result, and I've saved hundreds of dollars over taking my car to the dealer or other mainstream repair shops. The owner, Dean Adams, is one reason I keep going back. He runs the shop like he would like to be treated if he was a customer. He strikes me as honest a business man as they come. He gives you the straight truth about your repair. If you're not happy with the work performed Dean will make it right with you. The couple of times I've had problems after the repair Dean has always corrected the problem without complaint. Actually, he honestly seemed sorry about the problem and got it corrected. In the 15 or more years I've been going to him for car repair I've never felt he did any work that wasn't necessary and that I didn't agree with, and I know a few things about car repair. This is the kind of guy I would send my wife or sister to and not worry that they might be taken advantage of just because they don't know anything about auto repair. Dean tells me he doesn't charge customers the "book" price for repairs. Book price is the established number of hours most repair shops charge, regardless of how much time it takes them to actually fix your car. For example, they charge you for 3 hours work, but the mechanic might fix the car in half that time because they don't do all the stuff the book says they should. Dean charges real and actual repair time. And his hourly rate is a lower than other shops. Now this isn't a fancy, first class looking auto shop. But don't let the appearance bother you. The low overhead costs of this shop is why he can save you money on repairs. In summary, if you have a new car, are making big bucks, and don't mind paying the dealership big bucks to take care of you this probably isn't the place for you. But if your older car is in need of an honest mechanic and money is tight go see Dean Adams at ACR.
