| - Check in process was pretty routine. I arrived like late morning and was thankful I was allowed to check in early as a lot of hotels won't let you do that.
Since I had been up since 3:30am with nothing to eat all day, I was a bit hungry and decided to order room service once I got settled in. I went with a burger because it had fresh guacamole on it. Nice!
Well, about 30 minutes later my food arrived. When I took the silver lid off the plate, guess what? No guacamole! Grrrr! That was the only reason I went with that option.
Oh well, the room was nice and clean and the bed was really comfy. I found it a little odd that they put the safe for your valuables on the top shelf of the closet. My wife would've never been able to reach it.
For the next 90 minutes, I listened to the cleaning crew run vacuum cleaners, slam doors, talk loudly on their walkie-talkie's until the point I couldn't stand it any longer and called the front desk. Guess what, it stopped immediately, don't know why I waited so long to call.
Anyway, I like the fact that it had a casino inside the hotel so after my cocktail party the first night I hit the floor. I was disappointed they didn't have traditional roulette but my buddy turned me on to what he dubbed "fake roulette". It's basically machine operated and you place your bets in much the same fashion. Choose your colors, red or black, or pick your favorite numbers or bet in groups of 12, etc... lots of options. I really liked the idea of being able to play the previous bet over again which saved from all the selections because the game goes pretty fast.
My dislike was over the smoking as I had a guy sitting right next to me smoking and it was blowing my way. I cashed out early and left.
I had another bad experience with the room service folks. I called for breakfast my last day and the phone rang, rang and rang. I hung up and called back again and got someone to answer, a young lady. She began by asking my room number and the name on the room, pretty standard. I got most of my order in and was placed on hold. I sat there for 2 minutes until the line rang back and she never picked up. I waited more before hanging up. Guess what? She never called back and neither did I so instead I checked out early and left for the airport where I grabbed a late breakfast.
I doubt I'd return to this hotel, the service just wasn't what I'm looking for in a hotel stay....
