| - While, I've checked into this location on more than one occasion on more than one mobile app, I never thought to write a review about it until I noticed that my fellow Yelp-villlians had only awarded this fine establishment 3/5 stars. Gasp! I needed to add my 2 cents here ASAP.
OK so maybe I am a little biased, But to quote country singer Toby Keith "I Love this Bar".
But what is my bias based on? Well friend I'm glad you asked, step into my classroom and allow me to learn ya on how to judge a hip nightspot (just never use the word hip for starters). I base my bias on 4 areas:
1) Atmosphere (is it fun, cool, trendy),
2) People (are they friendly? Do members of the opposite sex actually talk to one another?)
3) Music (did I hip hopped till i couldn't stop),
4) X-factor (what does it have that no one else has)
So here we go folks:
1) Atmosphere
The crowd at Tattoo is uber pleasant. Its light, happy, and everyone gets along with everyone. Never have I witnessed someone getting kicked out or seen a fight break out here. Everyone is just in a genuine good mood.
2) People
Tying in with the above, the atmosphere is due in large part to the people who attend Tattoo RP. Ego's seem to be left at coat check (where they should be), everyone is friendly and dressed casual (no stupid tight Gino threads here). People say excuse me, pardon me and Oops I'm sorry when passing you by. And fellas, the girls are friendly here too!! I am no great PUA when it comes to clubs/bars BUT each time I go to Tattoo has resulted in a friendly conversation (or even a phone number exchange). BONUS POINTS
3) Music
TRP plays all the classic sing along tracks as well as some of the popular rock, electronic tracks that people are digging. They don't dive too deep into any one genre, but people are always singing along and the dance floor is always full of people having a good time. Think a wedding but no one plays YMCA, MACARENA OR CELEBRATE (even though I LOVE those tracks).
4) X-Factor
Plain and simple, its called Tattoo Rock Parlour because if sober you can actually get a tattoo out front while your friends party it up inside. Where else can you do that in Toronto?
I've had 2 of my last 4 birthdays here and more than me having a great time, my anti-rock friends have all had a great time.
Party on Wayne. Party on Garth.
