  • I came to Charlotte on a mini vacation for a week. People around the area were raving about this place called Mert's. I decided to check out this place for dinner. When I walked in, I felt like I was at home. Everything felt laid back and homey. I didn't know what to order so I decided to ask the waitress. She gave me a couple recommendations and I decided to go with the combo which came with BBQ Beef Rib, Fried Chicken, and two sides. I ordered the Mac & Cheese and home fries. Blue Moon was only $3.50 so we decided to grab couple beers. While we waited for our food our waitress came to our table with some corn bread and sweet butter. This is probably the best cornbread I ever had!!! It was sweet and delicious!!! When my food came the Fried Chicken looked dry and not very appealing. I bite into the chicken and was amazed! The chicken was juicy, tender, and not that greasy! The beef ribs were just as satisfying! The mac & cheese and mash potatoes were both great. I would definitely recommend this place. The atmosphere was relaxing and I felt like I was at home. Waitress provided excellent service and was conversing with us throughout the night. Lastly, the combo with the two sides cost me $14! If you are near downtown Charlotte, you must check this place out and order the FRIED CHICKEN & BBQ RIBS!
