  • While the food is good, the service easily knocked this joint down from four stars to two. Let's recap shall we? We get there before they open. Me and my homie are chillin on the deck, enjoying the weather... waiting for our other homie to come (who we find out is chillin in the car, listening to The Read). They open, we're seated and immediately greeted by our waitress (who we find out later is a manager). She gave us the specials and popular dishes, explained they're a tapas place, etc, etc. We're given our water and some bread and balsamic/oil dip. She leaves us to look over the menu. She returns after a few minutes. I ask, "what are your more bulkier or bigger dishes" she flatly says "all the dishes are small because they're tapas" You're kidding me right? I know that. Chick what are the bigger dishes out of the whole menu cause I'm hangry. (I didn't say this) But she does say that the pasta dishes are heartier. That's all she should have said in the first place. My homie says it could be a culture thing, referring to her off-putting attitude. Shit in my culture, i give attitude and dont spare feelings, but there are times and places where that's acceptable. She agreed. We order... The falafel had good flavor and texture and could have used a bit more mint and sauce for freshness. I didn't ask (and I'm glad I didn't. I'll tell you why later) The pommes frites were okay. They were a bit salty and I like ranch with my fries. They didn't have any so ketchup made it a bit better. The carnitas was the best of the three dishes I had. While I'm not a big pomegranate seed fan, I still thoroughly enjoyed the dish. Back to the ranch. Another lady who was chipper and friendly comes to the table. We ask if they have ranch. She says no but they have another sauce that goes with another dish, and it's like an herb ranch. Okay cool, we'll try that. We get it. It's small. My other homie wanted one. The manager comes back and we ask for another one. She said there's going to be a charge. For one? For both? I'm confused. She leaves. The friendly lady comes back. I ask if there's a charge for the sauce. She says no. I said the other lady said there was. They're both at the table now. Confusion ensues. In the end the Manager says she'll have the chef take the sauce off the bill. Manager seemed dead set at charging until friendly lady cleared everything up. Fast forward to the bill. We get one check: Homie E: "Can we have three separate checks?" Manager: "we don't separate checks" Me: "soooo" Manager: "you can write out what you had and I'll take the payments".... walks away Homie E: "how do we do this? Do we add tax?l Me: "iono man" Homie M: proceeds to neatly write on the card with who had what and puts the card/cash accurately on top of each section Manager returns... Homie M: "so I just put what we had and the amount..." Manager: rolls eyes, looks confused. Leaves Me: blood boiling, thinking as a manger her customer service skills SUCK! "She sucks!" Manager: "blah blah blah, next time you'll need to write the amount not the dishes. Blah blah blah, I'll do it this time for you. Next time you need to do it. Blah" Me: Looks across at another table with a big ace bowl of mussels and bread. What in the ever-loving.... "look at that big bowl of food. That's what I meant by bigger dishes" I'm never coming back to this bi... place" The End.
