| - We had such a lovely time at the old FEZ location, so on a return trip to Phoenix, we knew we'd have to visit again. We came for brunch, and everything was great. I had two mimosas, and felt pretty grand about my life.
We ate on the patio because we had our dogs with us. We ordered them some eggs and the waiter, very enthusiastic about dogs, said he'd add a side of chicken in there. What we didn't consider, but perhaps should have because we understood FEZ's portions, is that the plates of egg and chicken that he brought out for our dogs was enough to feed an adult human, and our dogs weigh 12 and 22 pounds. (And yes, he brought out TWO plates of food for them.) We let the dogs indulge, but they couldn't handle their own gluttony, and were sick the rest of the weekend. Really we know that this is our fault for not taking the portions away sooner, or specifying size better to the waiter. But as someone who said he was a small dog owner himself, I still can't quite understand what he was thinking. Surely he doesn't feed his own dogs that much!!
So, FEZ is solidly four stars. The lack of sleep that resulted in endless trips outside that night makes me hindsight it to 3.
