| - A cat whom I loved dearly left this world a few years ago.
Wario, and my other cat, Miso, were BFFs. After the loss of Wario, Miso went into a deep funk. Some time passed and I decided that I was ready for another cat and that Miso deserved a companion. After all, sleeping for 20 hours a day, alone, without a buddy, is no fun at all.
I ended up adopting a 4-month old kitten and named her Roe. These days Roe sleeps. Miso sleeps. Roe sleeps. Miso sleeps. Roe sleeps. Miso sleeps. Usually together. Sometimes not. It is a beautiful thing. On rare occasions, when I am particularly fortunate, one will wake up and give me a minute out of their busy days and bless me with a head bump, then go back to sleep. Twice a day, I reward their awesome ambition with food.
Thank you, Animal Foundation. Really though. The adoption process was quick and painless. All medical records were clearly documented and provided. In addition to the cats, they also have an abundance of dogs and rabbits. All shelters, by nature, have an air of misery about them, but this one keeps the sadness to a minimum. The kennels were always clean when I visited and all animals appeared to be well-fed and well-groomed. The workers there were also kind, compassionate, patient, and helpful.
If it matters to you, you should also note that this is not a no-kill shelter.
