  • Belfast Love is a new Irish style pub that recently opened in the King St West entertainment district. Some people consider it one of the new hot spots on King St West. Me and a few buddies went on a Saturday evening around 8 pm on the Canada Day long weekend. King St West was quieter than usual compared to most Saturday evenings due to the long weekend. We decided to eat inside and we were seated pretty quickly. It's pretty spacious inside and can accommodate groups of many different sizes, in the back they had long benches for very large groups. They also have a patio on the side that faces Wilbur Mexicana. We ordered a few drinks and some food to share amongst us. I'll only comment on the things I tried or ordered. The beer list was a pretty decent list of local and non local craft beers but not super extensive and reasonably priced for King St West. I had a pint of Muskoka Detour ($6.75 plus tax). We ordered the fennel sausage pizza ($15 plus tax) which consisted of crushed chili, sausage, broccolini, mozzarella and tomato sauce and Moroccan dry rub chicken wings ($12 plus tax). The food took about twenty minutes to come to our table. The fennel sausage pizza even though it was a little soggy was actually pretty decent. The Moroccan dry rub chicken wings were actually really bad, that particular rub doesn't really work with deep fried chicken wings. Beer and good wings are essential for any bar/pub. The service was decent. Belfast Love is a pretty chill place to have drinks with friends before going to a club on the King St West strip or just a place to have some good local and non local craft beers with friends. The food was okay, the food items we tried were hit and miss.
