| - I am writing this review strictly because I have attempted to contact the salon 3 times, to discuss my concerns during my service on Wednesday 10-14-15. I am not one to write negative reviews. Especially because I only write them if the situation was not rectified. So I was referred to this salon by an instructor. She raved about the students and their competence. So when i got in the chair and showed the student the picture of what I was trying to do. Mind you, I spoke to 3 other hair stylists to make sure this is a reasonable expectation of what I am trying to achieve, along with asking if a student could do this. All three said absolutely! Easy! I don't want to keep this too long. But basically the teacher was in a terrible mood and definitely not being helpful to my student. During my 4 hours of being there, several students had approached my student saying " miss ____ is in a horrible mood. She is not being helpful at all. Something's wrong with her." Are several of the comments I heard. The teacher never looked at the color of my hair before the bleach was removed to make sure it was the right color, she never looked at my hair when the toner was removed to make sure it was the right color. The toner was supposed to be left on a minimum for 5 minutes. It was on for 3. At the end, it wasn't on long enough, which is why my color turned out the way it did. To make it all worse, the student was working with a broken blow dryer that she was given when she started the program last June. She had said she told them multiple times it was broken, but no one replaced it. My hair got caught in it and i lost a chunk of my hair because of it. At the end, to make it worse, they charged me $95 for the service. I was astonished. I asked to speak to a manager. Of course, the one who I spoke with was the one who was working with my student. She was defensive. And with attitude told me that those are the costs and that's that. In no way shape or form is that the cost. I should have been charged for the highlights and the extra bowl for the color at my roots. I will be contacting the board of cosmetology to file a formal complaint on negligence on behalf of the instructor and the school, and the harm done to my hair in regards to broken equipment. Overall, my student was the nicest, sweetest person. She did her absolute best given the situation she was in with her instructor. I commend her on her ability to handle the tough situation she was put in. It's such a shame. I've been a student in teaching facilities. I expect more from the instructors and the upper management. I hope they contact me so it doesn't have to go this far. But I have no other choice :(
