Great name, great look and a nice change from the standard Danforth pastry shops... but it's not a place I need to visit again.
The first thing I ever bought at Sweet Tooth was a cupcake. I'm nuts about cupcakes and will try one anywhere I go. The cake was dry and stale - possibly it had been on the shelf for days. The shop was newer back then, so maybe they hadn't the traffic to move product quickly.
Of course, they carry product that is baked elsewhere too. For example the famous Phipps butter tarts. There's no detriment to a shop in carrying a high quality, ubiquitous product - unless that product is really over-priced. Compare Sweet Tooth's Phipp's butter tart to the same one, say, in Cabbagetown. It's impossible to justify paying $4 for a tart you can get elsewhere for $2.25.
It's too bad because there aren't a lot of other choices on the strip.
