Hopefully I won't need to return here but if I ever need emergency care, I will start here. It's convenient and close by. I went in Friday around 4am after experiencing abdominal and back pain for 2 hours at home. When I walked in I was greeted by a friendly woman at the registration desk. The waiting room was empty. I was almost immediately taken back for blood work/labs. I was seen by a dr very quickly as well. All the rooms appeared empty as well but I was told it had been busier earlier.
I was told it would be a half hour for ultrasound because they only had someone on call. It ended up being close to a two hour wait. It wasn't a big deal though as I was still processing through faster than any other ER visit I had. When the ultrasound tech got there, he was friendly and professional.
After my results came in, I was asked if I was prepared to have my gallbladder removed as I had stones and inflammation. I said yes as it has been a problem for awhile. They gave me an option of being transferred to Gilbert mercy or chandler regional. I didn't have a preference so they saw who could take me first.
I then had a super friendly guy at the end arranging my transport. I don't remember his name but he was commuting from globe. He ended the visit on a high note.
I was at this ER for approximately 5.5 hours before being transferred.
Overall good experience, staff was competent and friendly.
Small notes for improvement (these aren't major, but could improve patient experiences):
-It's freezing inside. I was offered warm blankets. And I took 3 :)
-there is only 1 working remote so they had to come get it for someone else and then it never came back :(. I was fine until Golden girls ended :) then I was stuck.
- I would have appreciated more info from the dr explaining what the surgery would entail.
