| - This was a great place to stay in the Pittsburgh area! The area was wonderful... it's a newly developed area and there were a lot of restaurants close by, as well as shopping and groceries. Texas Roadhouse and LA Fitness are just across the parking lot.
I read other reviews before going about the rooms being dirty, but unless you have very high standards the rooms were perfectly clean. I did see a tiny speck of mildew in the corner of the shower, but it was NOT a big deal.
This hotel is very eco-friendly... they provide real dishes and silverware so there isn't plastic to throw away. They have a recycling bin in the room. The toilets are dual flush. The carpets are made from recycled material. The body soap and shampoo are in attached dispensers in the shower, reducing waste. (But no conditioner!)
The room has a lot of desk and cupboard space. There is also a table that rolls out for more seating, and a stool that pulls out from under the night stand. My kids slept on the pull-out sofa bed that they found very comfortable.
There's also a full kitchen, but we didn't make much use of it since we only stayed one night. But the appliances were modern, and included a full-sized fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. There were also dishes, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent.
I was a little disappointed in the complimentary breakfast, just because I was expecting pans of eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, etc, as I've had at other hotels where I've stayed. But they still had a decent selection: yogurt, oranges and bananas, warm oatmeal with several toppings, cold cereal, bagels, muffins, toast, DIY waffles, hard boiled eggs, and an omelet with cheese or an egg, bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich in a pouch that you heat in the microwave yourself. And drinks... juice, coffee, tea, milk, and hot chocolate. The hot drinks are available 24/7 during your stay. Only one of the two microwaves was working while I was there, so people were waiting to use it to heat up the pouches.
The layout of this hotel is nice, too. It's not too big, and the elevator is in the center right by the pool, fitness room/laundry, and lobby (where there are a couple of computers set up, a small conference room, and where breakfast is, too). There is also some nice outdoor seating outside the main entrance with a gas fire pit and cozy booths. There isn't a lot of seating for breakfast, but there were still a couple of tables available when we came down to eat.
Overall, you'll feel safe and at home at this hotel!
