  • For potential students: Beware! I didn't want to leave this review, but felt that I had to. The school itself looks nice and I was generally treated well, until I didn't fit into their plan. When I first arrived, I met with Ali. I'm not sure if she's still there, I tried looking her up on the staff list. Anyway, she was great! Friendly, informative, and a great vibe/energy all around. I told her I'm a veteran and I wanted to make sure that my GI Bill would cover the program. She set me up to speak with Tina Stratton. So, two days later I meet with Tina. I told her the programs I was interested in (both degree programs). She was pushing me towards the massage program, I think because it allows you to be considered full time and receive 100% GI Bill benefits, and maybe they also needed to fill the program. I said no, I'm not interested in that at all (I don't want to touch people like that) and reiterated the programs that I wanted more information on. She then says "Well, you already have a degree, here's some diploma programs for you" and proceeds to go on and on about various diploma programs, highlighting essentially entire pages of the catalog, while I sit there quiet. I then again said I'm not interested in a diploma program, and mentioned the degree programs I was interested in and pointed out how none of the diploma programs allow me to study anything that I am really interested in. She then mentioned how most of their veteran students continue their education for years (she didn't word it that way, but that was the gist of it). I then stated that I don't have that much time left on my GI Bill and I'm not looking to waste it. I know that I look about 10 years younger than I am so she probably assumed I haven't used any of it yet. Again, this illustrates the lack of questioning/concern about my wants and needs, and how she was just trying to fit me into what she needs or the school needs. It was a waste of my time and I wasn't listened to at all. However, after about 4 months I decided to go back and speak with someone else; maybe I'd have a different experience. So, I met with Mary Ritter. I loved the meeting. I felt like she listened to me and it was all meant to be. There is a new Integrated Healing Arts Practitioner program that seemed to fit perfectly! And starting in March, it would be approved for full time GI Bill benefits. I was really excited. Mary kept in touch with me and invited me to an event at SWINA. However, a couple of days later I tried to make another appointment with Mary, as I noticed that the only route for this program that was 100% for the GI Bill was the Yoga Teacher Training specialty. While I do love yoga, I do not want to teach it. Now, it has to be mentioned that during my meeting with Mary, I was still kind of "foggy" from a prior seizure. However, I know this wasn't mentioned during our meeting as I would have said something and I wouldn't have thought that this program was perfect for me. So, I tried to make another appointment with Mary. She responds, asking me if I wanted to attend a yoga class. I responded that I prefer to talk to her in person, but I wanted to speak with her about the program because I noticed that the yoga teacher route seems to be the only one that is covered 100%. That was at 11:15am on a Friday. That night, I still hadn't received a response, so I sent another email at 7:19pm. I received an automated response that Mary is out of the office and will return on Monday. She did reply to my email the next morning, a Saturday, asking if I can come in that Monday. I said yes, anytime. That was November 10th (today is December 3rd) and I have yet to receive a response. So, I figure if you don't fit their needs, you won't hear from them. Also, it must not be meant to be for me to attend this school. I also have to add, exactly how many veterans do they really expect to be interested in becoming a yoga teacher? Not many. They'd be better off making some of the other programs more GI Bill friendly. Maybe if you fit into their program for you, then you will be treated well. But I would advise you to read some of the other reviews on here from those who actually attended the school.
