Ever try a place that you're hesitant to share with the world for fear that one rave brings a deluge of folks that changes its character...... but then you realize that you have to do it because it's just too good not to share that yummy goodness?? Well, that's how I feel about Aladdin Market. This little Mediterranean market is located in an otherwise empty strip mall which used to house the now-defunct Liberace Museum (sniff sniff). The minute you walk in and pass the older gentleman manning the register, you feel like you're in someone's home and are ready to explore the wonders within. Items are neatly arranged and the short aisles are easy to navigate... though, stop and stare too long (guilty, as charged!) and you're bound to hold someone up who's looking for the bulgar, lentils, falafel mix, or freshly ground spices. If you've never tried authentic baba ganoush before, venture to the refrigerated section, where you will find some of the best (perfectly smoked eggplant forms the base to this fantastic spread!) I've tried in Vegas. The homemade falafels and hummus are also very good; though the grape leaves are hit-or-miss depending on the day. The star of the show: the specially baked bread that quickly disappears when available on random Saturdays. Just thinking about it makes me want to run over to Aladdin's now to see if I get lucky! Highly, highly recommend this place... you won't be disappointed!
