| - I'm from New York, where getting an $8 manicure is about as easy as getting a slice of pizza. Salons are everywhere, and they're cheap, and they're even open on - GASP - Sundays!
When I moved to the Midwest, I was so disappointed in the lack of affordable (but still quality) manicures. In Madison, WI, where I lived last year, the cheapest one I could find was $14, and it was horribly done, and the place was ghetto-UNfabulous (ripped couches, french fry w/mayo on the carpet, flies everywhere. I settled for the generally accepted $25 manicure for a year.
But in Cleveland, thankfully, there are other options, without resorting to extremes of either cost or comfort. Fantasy Nails is a great deal for me, for a few reasons:
1 - it's close by;
2 - it's affordable;
3 - it's clean;
4 - the people are nice enough; and
5 - it's quick.
Not to mention the flat screen TVs.
I've been to a couple other salons (upscale ones) in places like Rocky River. They were fine and very enjoyable, but only for a special occasion. For a weekly or biweekly manicure, Fantasy Nails is the perfect balance of budget and quality.
