  • Like most men, I've always purchased suits and sportcoats off the rack. I had heard that it typically costs around $7,000 or so to get a fully custom-made suit, and I didn't think I could justify that expense. The problem is that none of my off-the-rack suits, even those that I paid $2500 or more for at the most upscale retailers, fit me particularly well. I embraced "business casual" to avoid the problem, but most of us sometimes find ourselves in situations where business casual just isn't appropriate. Eventually, I realized that I was a little self-conscious about my appearance in certain professional situations even when wearing my very best suit. It just didn't feel right. Could the audience tell that my suit didn't really fit properly? I didn't know, but the fact that I was even asking the question wasn't a good sign... I decided that I was prepared to shell out the $7,000 or whatever the current market rate is for my first fully custom-made suit. I checked the Yelp reviews and found my way to Gary Franzen. What I found over the next couple of weeks blew me away. First of all, Gary has such a selection of quality fabrics, every bit as high-end as Armani or Brioni or any other designer, that I could have chosen six or seven fabrics that I liked better than anything I could find after going through every men's department in the Fashion Show mall. Second, he really can make it fit perfectly, not only because he has great style and taste but because he takes the time necessary to get every detail right. Finally, he could do all of this at a fraction of the $7,000 I expected to pay. In fact, I purchased 2 suits and a sportcoat from Gary and still didn't get to $7,000. Most of his fully custom suits come in between $2,000 and $2,500. I've paid more than this off the rack. Earlier this week I wore my new Gary Franzen suits while doing some public speaking. It was such a great feeling knowing that my suits fit perfectly and that I looked my very best professionally. My confidence was at a high level and my performance reflected it. Thanks, Gary. I will never buy another suit or sportcoat form anybody other than Gary Franzen. Given the quality of his suits and the professional value of wearing a suit that fits perfectly, Gary's suits are a screaming bargain. He's also a super nice guy so going through the process of getting fitted properly is anything but a chore. Even if you don't wear a suit that often, I encourage you to get over to Gary's place as soon as possible. It's such a great feeling knowing that you'll be ready to look your best the next time you need to wear a suit.
