| - For a few months, Sprouts was my regular grocery store. I love the quality of the produce, and the variety of items they carry. I experienced friendly service at the meat and seafood counter, and a cashier chatted with me to get my opinion when I purchased a lambic one night - he was clearly educating himself on the products. The cashiers and people walking the floor weren't always very friendly, and it was a customer service experience that ruined the store for me.
I was waiting for the cashier to finish scanning, so I could pay for my groceries and *then* help with the bagging. The woman in line behind me seemed to get tired of waiting, went around me to the bagging area, threw her purse down, and started BAGGING MY GROCERIES. I was clearly shocked, and I looked to the cashier to see if she would say something. When she didn't, I assumed the cashier thought the other woman was with me - because seriously, who *does* that? I go to stop the woman and take over, and she and the cashier both start protesting (the woman with attitude, the cashier nicely) that the woman works there. After expressing that I had no way of knowing the woman worked there (she wasn't in uniform and was in line as a customer) and that it had been humiliating, with both of them still protesting, I managed to pay, pack up, and leave. Neither offered me any kind of apology.
I haven't been back since then. That was the most humiliating, ridiculous customer service experience I have ever had. I took my business to the nearby Trader Joe's.
