| - Shopping for a mattress is weird. You go into a giant room filled with beds, and you start lying down.
There's no position that feels more weird and vulnerable than lying down.
The last time we bought a mattress, it was at a big department store's furniture department. 12 years later, it's mattress hunting time again. Our first stop was the big department store, where we were met with absolutely no help whatsoever. We wandered around, lying down on a succession of beds, feeling increasingly silly, and after a while we just left.
After window shopping at several places, we finally ended up at Mattress Matters. There we were greeted warmly at the door and made to feel quite comfortable. Our saleswoman was friendly and knowledgeable, and after we explained what we wanted she immediately took us to a bed that fit our description.
After that, she took us to the bed that was what we really wanted.
This is what sales expertise is all about. We were so shocked by how comfortable the bed was that we could hardly believe it. She encouraged us to take our time, get comfortable, and lie on it in the positions we actually sleep in. She made us feel so at ease that we were able to relax and really be certain. And then we went back and tried the other bed again, which only confirmed how right she was.
The whole process was made easy by the expertise and friendliness of the staff, and we await the delivery of our new mattress!
