I am going to give the hotel 2 stars because the front desk staff was pretty decent; even though I selected Green Choice during my visit, but was shorted the points. I brought that up to the front desk and was told that the points would be put on; but alas didn't happen.
Hotel Interior: This was my first Aloft visit and last. I just have not had much luck finding "the" hotel to use during my visits to the area. I like the Marriott @ Buttes; but a bit pricier and no hotel shuttle. The bed was decent, but the room overall was tiny. The shower dripped water during use, no water pressure at all. The in wall A/C unit was louder than the planes flying overhead. At times, I though one was actually making a landing in the room; as the unit would rev up. Word of advice: Don't set the speed to "Auto". The window sills are covered in carpet; so they trap dust and dirt. Idiotic concept. I was on the fifth floor and heard every step made above me and every conversation in rooms adjacent to mine.
Hotel Exterior: Pool is small and the lounge area is not secure; so anyone off the street can just walk up on you. This is an issue, as this hotel is surrounded by bums, homeless and others. I have not felt this unsafe walking to/from the hotel and my car in a long time; really missed having my Glock with me... Next to the hotel is a gas station, but again the area is littered with vagrants, so I discourage late night trips there.
Overall: Decent option for a one night stay if need to be by the airport.
