| - We weren't sure what we were going to do for dinner. Since I was starving, I needed a snack. We were staying at The Mirage and decided to swing by Carnegie Deli on Thursday, May 11th around 7pm to grab some takeout.
*CHOPPED LIVER PLATTER: potato salad, coleslaw, and chopped liver with lettuce, tomato and onion ($17.99)
*THE REUBEN: Our "famous" open-style sandwich piled high with your choice of corned beef, pastrami or turkey, Topped with melted Swiss cheese & sauerkraut ($24.99)
The sandwich was huge. But for $25, it better be! I asked for both corned beef and pastrami in the reuben, but I think they only gave us pastrami. I like my pastrami a little fatter as I think it makes the sandwich more comforting. The boys and I shared this and it was enough to feed the three of us. The chopped liver platter was a good way to sample some of their sides. I liked eating the liver with the reuben as I thought it added an extra creaminess. The rest of the salads were just okay. We also got two pickles so I think each order came with one. I love pickles, so I enjoyed these.
Expensive, but huge sandwiches. I've actually never been to a New York deli, but overall, I thought the sandwiches here were just all right.
