The problem with my original view of Fremont Street was that it was a destination. We stayed downtown for two nights and hung out at the FSE both nights. Calling it an "experience" is absolutely dead on. We had such a blast the first night, but spending 48 hours there was excessive -- at least for us.
The good: cheap beer (Fremont Street Hotel & Casino had $2 Heinekens and Coronas and $1 Margaritas), people watching, budget food, the light show on the hour, ziplining, Stevie Wonder dress up. Seriously -- that guy was incredible. I couldn't stop laughing at his pose.
Live entertainment on the weekends--the band was a cover band and watching some of these crazies dancing was a blast in and of itself.
The guy painting with spray paint -- absolutely breath taking. I don't know how that guy does what he does.
The not so good: a lot of people begging for money, all of the other showgirls and people dressed as superheroes. They're really just all standing in the way trying to guilt you into throwing them a dollar and it gets old after awhile.
I'd recommend everyone who visits Vegas to visit the Fremont Street Experience for an evening. It's great to see the downtown parts of Vegas, but I personally think that 2 full days there is way too much.
Pro tip: Take the Deuce or the SDX bus to get downtown. The Deuce will take you about an hour to get there, but the SDX will take you 30 minutes. The SDX is the same as the Deuce so you can use your Deuce pass on it, but it stops at less hotels and is much faster.
