  • Like, oh my god! I have like totally been going here since I was like in junior high! My friends and I used to make friendship bracelets using lil pearlized seed beads and safety pins or spelling each others' names on bracelets created on looms.Isn't that what bff's do? Oh wait. We didn't have that term back then. We'd hop the bus into Kensington and go to Beadworks for our supplies. They seriously had everything we needed from beads to wire to charms and all the components to complete a piece. So I'm a *lil* more grown up now but I still use Beadworks from time to time. I'd rather go there then Michaels...it's enjoyable to pick your beads individually rather then in packages. It actually surprises me that they never expanded into a larger space but they have the best location so why change a good thing. I think they still hold jewelry-making workshops & they even still have the card that tracks your purchases so that when yout hit a $100, you get $10 free. I hate to say it but with the advent of Ebay, Beadworks is now expensive when it comes to making jewelry. Convenient, yes. But I can get amazing high-quality components in larger quantities for less from Ebay. That being said, they're still a great place to go when you want to get your creative on and there really is a decent amount to choose from if you haven't been to Ebay *laughs* Staff has always been knowledgeable and can help with anything. If you don't like my review, I'm so totally NOT ever making you a friendship charm for your shoelaces EVER! *pouts*
