  • EDIT: The gel polish on my right index finger is already lifting. It has not even been one week. AVOID THIS NAIL SALON. Wanted to treat myself for my birthday next Saturday; this would be my second manicure, ever. After a quick soak, Peter started on my cuticles. I winced a few times but told myself I was being a baby. Except for my right thumb was bleeding where the cuticle used to be. I didn't notice until the end when he wiped my nails off with I'm hoping was an alcohol swab and not acetone... When Peter started putting on the gel color polish, I noticed he wasn't getting the edges of my nails. When I lifted my left hand to point out the missed edges, my left middle finger was smudged on the light by accident. I felt super bad and apologized. It didn't seem like Peter accepted my apology. The mood changed from there. Peter just top coated the smudged nail and said I was all done. I paid for my mom's and my manicure; tipped 15% (two gel manis $80 + 15% tip = $92). I sat next to my mom as Kim was still finishing her gel set. My mom asked me how I liked my manicure. I told her I loved the color and the "cat-eye" effect but my thumb nail is bleeding from the cuticle cut and my left middle finger looks ugly compared to the rest of them. My mom encouraged me to ask him to redo the one nail. I did. Peter agreed, but was obviously annoyed. Peter did not seem to have the same kind, welcoming manner as he did when I first walked in. He redid my left middle finger and decided without prompting to redo all of my other left fingers (which didn't have an issue). I was contemplating if I should tip an extra $2 for the redo, but I'm glad I did not. After I was all done (again), I examined my nails and now the surface of my left pinky nail has lint gelled into it and the edges of the pinky are noticeably bumpy. Reminder: nothing was wrong with my left pinky nail in the first place. Additionally, my right thumbnail and index fingernail can be seen through the gel nail polish. He never fixed the edges issue, either - pictures posted. Luckily the manicure from a distance doesn't look bad at all and the color I chose is pretty enough that I don't feel the need to get my b-day treat redone. But I do wish I had gone elsewhere.
