  • This tiny shop may look like a hole in the wall, but it is truly a diamond in the rough. After more than a year of living with knee pain, it was suggested to me by a senior colleague of mine that I get a pair of bikenstocks. I had been sold a pair once before years ago by a place that was more interested in your money than the right fit. So, I never wore them. Peter, one of the owners of this exclusive birkenstock store has an extensive background in anatomy and was able to explain to me why my knee had been bothering me. Peter has experience selling custom orthotics as well as birks and believes birks to be the better of the two. During our discussion of knee pain, Peter brought out from the back a skeleton mock up of a foot and began showing me where muscles attach on the foot, and what happens when joints in the foot get "stuck" or locked. I was advised to try on a model, which I did, in the right size and was amazed at what it felt like to be in a shoe that fit. Birkenstocks are not cheap, but nothing is that's of really good quality and that will last. Birkenstocks are an investment not just in the health of your feet, but all your major joints. I walked away with the Arizona brand of Birkenstock, the traditional two strapped sandal that so many people wear, in the right size. I was so impressed with the service I received at this family-owned locale that I would go back many times over. I only wish I could give them more stars!
