  • Make sure you keep your gas receipts and take a photo of the mileage and full tank when you return! I rented a car here for the weekend due to some car troubles and now regret it. ] I returned the car on time with a full tank of gas but was unable to checkout with anyone because it was 5:30 PM on a Sunday and the return area was left unattended. No biggie since I returned a clean car with a full tank of gas, I left my keys in the car and went on with my day. Three days later my card is charged $142 instead of the $59 I was quoted. I called customer service and found I was charged $82 for gas for not leaving it with a full tank. Customer Service told me if I could provide a gas receipt with the address of where I filled up that was less than 10 miles from the rental car return they would refund the difference. Unfortunately, my bank couldn't provide me with the transaction AND the address and I didn't keep the actual receipt from the pump so I am out $82 bucks. The kicker? If the staff was paying attention on the return, they would have seen I had drive less than 120 miles in a car that gets 32 MPG city/40 Highway but somehow I managed to use 8+ gallons of gas according to the $9.99 per gallon they charge to refill the tank. Pay more, rent somewhere else.
