The Italian sausage is very, very good. It's not inexpensive by any measure, but nothing I guess says they have to be. Their Sicilian variety is $6.50 a lb. I've never paid that much for Italian sausage before, nor seen it that high. That said, IT MAY BE THE BEST ITALIAN I'VE EVER HAD, and I've had great Italian sausage from all over Chicago where the Italian communities are extremely devoted about the culinary arts and the results are legendary. Most of my Chicago neighbors are Italian, they make fresh sausage in the garage. It's outstanding, but Schreiner's is right up there. The sweet and hot variety Italian is $6 so a hair less. But that Sicilian, wow.
