  • I took my Honda in for an oil change and tire rotation and mentioned that I had recently had the power steering pump replaced but I was beginning to hear the similar noise I heard before replacing the pump. The mechanic called me telling me I needed a new rack and pinion at a cost of almost $1300. I then took my car to two other shops and a private mechanic and all agreed it was simply a leaking hose. I asked if this could be a rookie type mistake and all three said no. The leak (as actually shown to me) was in the top hose and was really obvious. Not sure if someone was off their game or just looking to take advantage of a woman who may not know about cars. I do know enough to get a second opinion! Buyer beware!
