| - Party of 4, with reservations on a Sunday night at 8pm. Seated quickly, but our waiter, Aries (sp?) was horrible. It took him about 15 minutes to come back to take our order after giving us the menus, and as far as I could tell, he was only working 2 other tables. Then, about 10 minutes later, he shows back up at the table with news (from the manager apparently) that the beer we ordered does not come in small bottles (which we did not request), and wanted to know whether large bottles were okay. We told him yes, and he returned about 5 minutes later with the beers and water, but the soda I had ordered did not arrive. By the time I realized it seconds later, the fellow who brought the drinks was gone (not our waiter), and the attention of our waiter was impossible to get (mostly because he was shooting the shit with a co-worker in the little room at the back where the cash register was). I finally got his attention some 10 minutes later, and he looked SHOCKED my soda wasn't there. He brought one 5 minutes later, and left, only for me to realize he brought the wrong kind. When I finally got his attention again and told him it was wrong, he was again, SHOCKED. By the time I got the soda I was so longing for, the meal was almost over. We had been sitting at our table for over 40 minutes. If that's the kind of service you're looking for, then go to Shibuya and ask for Aries!
The food, unlike the service, was good. We ordered a combination tempura, a shibuya roll, a hokkaido roll, a spicy tuna roll, a salmon avocado roll, and a snow crab california roll. The tuna was fresh, and the rolls were all well made and tasty. Not as good as Wafu in Costa Mesa, Ca, but good for what they were. I especially liked the spicy tuna roll.
Overall, I was unhappy to have wasted my $60 portion of the check on a place with such horrible service. I really, really, really wanted to drink that soda at the beginning of my meal!!!
