| - So here's the deal on this place, plain and simple.
It looks run-down, and shady. And it is. Because:
1. Homeless people in and around the parking lot.
2. Quite a while to check-in because of many people arguing with the counter staff.
3. Broken things in the room (lamp)
4. Dirty things in the room (leftover shaving razor stuff behind the toilet on the floor)
5. The random guy who came pounding on my door (took a look through the peep hole, dude looked gangstery, so I definitely wasn't going to answer.
6. Carpet must not have been cleaned in a long, LONG time. My socks got dirty just walking on it.
7. Beds were not in the best condition. (Stains/holes in some bedding)
The good points:
1. It's cheap. Ran me less than $100 for my 3 night stay.
2. Bed was comfortable for me. I slept well.
3. Shower had good flow and hot water.
4. There is a coco's restaurant and a liquor store that has some sundries and other supplies, both basically in the same parking lot.
5. It is across the street from the MGM Grand, very close to the strip.
6. Room heater/AC worked great!
I would advise single female travelers away from this place. (Mostly for the random people roaming around at night and the gangster guy who came knocking at my door).
This place is good for people who are coming to Vegas for an event that is on or near the strip, who are coming in groups, and need a place to stay on the cheap. Beyond this, pay the extra $ and stay in one of the nicer, safer strip hotels.
Two stars because while the room was not bad, the locale is very questionable at best.
