| - I first came to this hotel when I was 5 years old, because my parents thought it was completely appropriate to take a small child on their Vegas trip. The only things I remember were hanging out at the hotel pool and walking around the casino with my mom until security told her I couldn't be there.
Twenty or so years later, I've returned to this place. I have family from Hawaii that come here at least annually. Logically, this is now the spot for our family reunions, because nothing screams bonding like sportsbetting and terrible buffets, MI RITE???
ok, let's get down to it:
Hotel: 3 stars.
Basic rooms. We're talking about no comforter on the bed and no bed skirt basic. If you are the 2nd person to shower you have a high likelihood of fluctuating shower temperatures. Also, you do not want to have to kneel on the tiled bathroom floor here for any reason (drinking too much). However, I screened carefully for bed bugs (didn't find any) and checked generally cleanliness, and it was passable. There's AC/Heating and Wifi (if you pay $10 per device, daily). There is also a fridge in your room, which is completely useless for storing anything that needs to be reheated, as there is no microwave.
Ca$ino: 4 stars.
Low minimums, lots of slot machines, and the cocktail waitresses come around often. If you join the player's club, the comps accumulate quickly. You get way more here than on the Strip, or even at the SoCal Indian casinos.
Food: 2 stars.
Not even going to start. The sum of it is, "why are there no fresh fruit or vegetables?"
Location: 4 stars.
Really close to Fremont street, and you don't have to walk through a super shady area to get there. Not much traffic coming in or out of here either, and parking is super easy.
Summary: If you're going to Vegas for a cheap or drunken Fremont Street Experience or you are going to be gambling, this is not a bad choice. If you want luxury or the big-resort feel don't come here.
