| - Do NOT go to Annette Espinoza!!!!!
She will F$&@ up your hair with this "Balayage" technique. If you have light brown hair and some grey roots it is common knowledge you never ever use this technique. Unfortunately, I did not know this when she was doing it. I went in asking for highlights. Blonde highlights over my natural light brown hair.
She is someone I met in the neighborhood. Her portfolio looks great. She had seen my hair in person and told me she could do it for me no problem. I figure what could go wrong?? My hairdresser broke her arm so I needed someone asap for my wedding. Well, she ruined my hair just before my wedding!! It has taken me over a year to get my hair back to something where I can wear it down and not pulled back. My hair grows so slow. I am to this day so pissed! It was the way she handled it too, very unprofessional. It came out blotchy...brown spots from my natural color and white spots from over processing it. It look like something that I had did at home color out of a box. I didn't really notice it until I got home. I was in there for ever (5 hours) and I was in a rush to get home to my kids. And when she styled my hair she covered up the mess that she did. Because when she blow dried my hair, you're not looking at the mirror you're turned away so you can't see anything until she's done. When I got home, it was so bad, that my husband looked at me and asked me what the hell happened to my hair? And my husband never notices my hair when I get it done!! My husband was so pissed that she did this just before our vow renewal! We had family members coming in from out of town, professional pictures, the whole shebang, for our 10 year vow renewal!!
She charged me $180 and would not take me back in the salon to fix it. She wanted to fix it at my house...a week later!!! My wedding was in three weeks. I need it fixed ASAP.
I had to go to someone else and have them fix it for $300. My hair was fried, completely broken off, and my wedding pictures look like shit! Before this, my hair was almost to my waist and now it's just barely past my shoulders. My hair was so damaged.
I think the mistake she made was besides using that technique was she kept walking away to deal with another customer and left me sitting there sometimes for 10 minutes at a time with this process all over my hair. And she would come back and work on another section. So I had a big white bleach spot on top of my forehead and top of my crown area. I knew something was wrong when her assistant was washing my hair out and they kept coming back to put a toner or something on it. I sat for almost another hour at the wash station for them trying to correct their mistake.
I knew the minute I walked in there and sat in the front lobby for 20 minutes before she even came back to get me something was wrong. I even sent her a text and let her know I was there! She sat there talking to her coworkers bitching about something until she finally turned around and asked me to come back. It was so bad another hairdresser offered me water and kept rolling her eyes after she asked me where my stylist was. I said I'm waiting on Annette, she's right there and the girl kept shaking her head and rolling her eyes like she couldn't believe she left me sitting there for 20 minutes. I should've walked out then.... horrible customer service and unprofessional. I don't care if I was a neighbor that's not how you treat people. But I felt bad for her she's going through a divorce so I figured she was having another bad day. Her attitude was really really bad that day.
