We received a coffee machine as gift. The folks who bought it for is said they got it at Macy's. We wanted to exchange it for a more expensive model. The cashier told us she would not be able to do that and we'd have to speak to the manager. Ok, that makes sense I guess. When the manager came over he had this look of disgust on his face. You could just tell he was not interested in helping us and annoyed that he was called. We explained we got the machine as a gift and it was bought at Macy's. He said he could not allow us to exchange it because we didn't have the receipt. While I was talking to him, I pulled up Macy's return policy which states you can only get a credit when returning an item without a receipt. Shouldn't be a problem getting a credit toward the purchase of a model that is $100 more. He then asked me where I bought the machine. I once again told him we received it as a gift and they bought it at Macy's. He then told me he could not accept it because we couldn't prove we bought it there. As we walked away he said where is the sign that says we take back people's crap. I feel bad for Macy's. I'm sure they've lost many customers because of this awful person!!!
