  • This was my second visit to Beef and Bottle. The first time I ate here (3 years ago), I had a pleasant experience...good service, awesome food. Tonight, I left pretty pissed off. When I arrived, the table was set up for us, but it took at least fifteen minutes for the server to greet us. They had half priced wine (hell yeah), but the wine list was not even on the table. The crackers and cheese whiz thing just made me feel insulted. When paying $30 a plate, one shouldn't have to unwrap captain's wafers while waiting for beverages. If they pride themselves on being a local landmark, couldn't they buy a few loaves of bread from Nova's or Suarez? The oysters Rockefeller were overcooked. They looked like they had sat in the window for twenty minutes (and quite possibly could have). My filet had to be sent back, but did eventually taste great. The salad consisted of iceberg, radishes, (not so fresh) tomatoes, green peppers. Served on warm salad plates. The salad dressing, however, was pretty good. A manager/ owner was present, but never stopped by our table. This place is too f*%#$@* small to not have a manager/owner check on the guest satisfaction at tables, especially if a steak had to be recooked. As we left, the manager/owner turned the inside lights off before we got to the door. Rude . Had the service and food prep been quicker, we would have already been out the door an hour prior to that. I do not recommend this restaurant.
