| - My wife and I had heard great things about Oakmont Bakery and she absolutely love's all things sweet, but we don't leave the city too often and it took us about two years of living in the area to finally make it to Oakmont. Now we can't stop going back.
The town of Oakmont is very cute and the bakery fits in nicely, though has obviously become quite the draw. With the increase in popularity, this had turned into a large, high volume bakery. It starts with having to take a number for service, which on a busy morning can be 20-30 people ahead of you to order. This isn't a problem though as there are hundreds of different things to choose from and probably 80 feet of glassfront to drool over looking for the perfect thing. They have a lot of workers behind the counter though, so even at peak times it doesn't take more than 5-8 minutes to be helped. I really appreciate the efficiency here.
Some of our favorite things have been the macaroons, buttercream paczki, maple bacon donut, ladyfinger, and the eclair. I;ve also tried a peperoni roll which was very good. Despite all the hype, the prices are on par to below what I would consider average for a bakery. This was surprising and oh so welcome. Be sure to take a look across the parking lot at the production facility to watch them expertly making decadent cakes.
