Went to Barrio Cafe for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! I visited with my girlfriend and luckily got a table despite not making a reservation (which is highly recommended). We were definitely intimidated by the menu, which is mostly in Spanish, but our server was extremely helpful and the most polite. His colorful use of vocabulary and attitude made us comfortable and glad to be there. The dishes themselves were delicious and had plenty of flavor and texture. During our dinner a live musician came in and serenaded the restaurant with Spanish melodies that set the mood and livened up the night. Overall I would highly recommend Barrio Cafe for the person who wants to expand their culinary palette and enjoy a nice evening in Phoenix!
