  • I am writing this review about Buffalo Highlands and my experience with them during my attempted move into their property. I want to say first and foremost if this company wants any kind of business they shouldn't treat their potential residents like total garbage I am embarrassed to say I even attempted to move into this community. During my attempted move my wife and I saw these online and thought they were awesome so we decided to go check them out. My wife went down their the next day and viewed some of the vacant apartments they have available. She fell in love with them and she was excited about our move so she went ahead and filled out their application and gave them the fee of $300 and $40 for the application and holding fee. In a couple of days we had received the response to our application and it was denied, this was a shock to me because there shouldn't of been a reason it was denied, we've always paid our rent, left other apartments clean and never had any complaints against us. I had my wife call the agent she had been dealing with Michelle and she stated that it was out of her hands and she couldn't assist us anymore at this time as it was denied by the General Manager Gina. My wife then contacted Gina who was very rude and didn't sound very knowledgeable at all she stated to my wife that my previous apartment complex had sent their referral back stating that we had a complaint against us and it was out right denied no question asked. I then contacted my current apartment complex (Viviani) and they stated that they had filled out a number one for the complaint section because they had written down in their computer system that we had one complaint based on an animal that was loose outside. This was funny to me because this was in fact not a complaint but an "event" based on radio traffic from the maintenance team that had to gain emergency access into my apartment to repair a water heater that had been leaking while we were not home. I didn't have an animal loose but in fact the maintenance team stated to the office over the hand held radio that there was an animal in the way inside my apartment and they needed to move his cage to bring the water heater from the back door to the front door. Nobody called from another apartment, nobody complained this was simply an event that occurred and was never registered as a complaint. I then contacted the manager of my current complex (Viviani) and she stated that this was indeed a mix up and it should've never been put on the referral and they need a new one faxed over and make sure they attention it to her. I went ahead and sent an email to Buffalo Highlands letting them the status of this situation and we are getting it resolved over this mix up that was sent to them. I never got a response from the first email I sent to Buffalo Highlands but Gina did read this because I did receive my read receipt right after I sent it this is attached below. "Your message To: Gina Stiscak Subject: Rental Application Denied (Follow Up) Sent: Tuesday, July 14, 2015 5:57:48 PM (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) was read on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 6:14:18 PM (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada)." After not receiving a response the following day I did send another email to Gina stating that we need another forum faxed over to Viviani so they can send them the corrected referral yet again I didn't get a response from Gina and still am waiting to this day. I just want to say a few things about this company, if they want a bad reputation and want their name based then they are doing a fine job with that being that they treat you like dirt and dont investigate things a little more then they should. This was a horrible experience from the get go and we haven't even moved in yet. So, we have retracted our $300 from them being that we were "denied" and we have decided to move elsewhere as if we have this many problems before we even had a chance to move in then maybe this wasn't the place for us because we may be treated like garbage and stuck under their contract leash. Gina is worthless as far as I am concern she doesn't respond to emails and blows you off I hope she reads this and understands that her customer service sucks and her soft skills are horrible, oh... and I wanted to say as far as your "Net Promoter Score" goes I wouldn't recommend Buffalo Highlands to a friend and I would give them ZERO's across the board. Choose wisely when looking at any of the "Highland" properties make sure you really think about the decision you're making and feel out the management before you move in. Once you're in.... you're stuck!!
