  • First of all I must say that REI is the place to go for all your outdoor needs and if they don't have it, then you don't need it. However, I am very disappointed with the staff at the Tempe location. Customer service SSSUUUCCCKSSS! They have plenty of time to gossip and talk about their relationship problems. And they appear to get perturbed when you ask them for help (which is their job). I guess not too surprisingly, they aren't very knowledgeable about their products or have much outdoor experience. Attitude reflects leadership. While the merchandise is good, it's the attitude that brings down the rating. I've been to REI stores in Lynnwood & Bellingham, WA and have had great customer service. And yes, I mentioned my disappointment to the manager on duty and got a load of whiny excuses (no apology or action).
