  • We celebrated my birthday here on Tuesday. I have been wanting to try this place for several years but there are so many choices in this town it has been evading me. We made a reservation for 5:30 as we had guests coming to town later. When we arrived we were the only food guests in the room. The bar however was completely full and they had a pianist in the bar which was kind of nice. The background nose was kind of loud and I am not sure why they didn't seat us in on of the other rooms with less noise. The service was very good. We started with the Carpaccio and the crab cakes and they were both very good. The crab cake was delicious. I had the braised short rib which was served over mashed potatoes. delicious! My wife had the bone in filet and she said it was the best tasting filet that she can remember having. For our sides we had the lobster mac and cheese, Asparagus with almonds and Au Gratin Potatoes. The mac and cheese was awesome, the asparagus was not prepared professionally as they were large stalks with good flavor but very thick skin which should have been shaved off on the lower extremities before serving and the Au Gratin was very good. We have the butter cake with ice cream for desert and that was also very good. The signed birthday card was nice but I forgot it on the table. All in all this was very good but enough flaws that I could not muster that extra star.
