| - I'm not sure what happened maybe it's just all the more passionate resturants popping up around the city,, but there has definitely been a decline in this place. And now that I've seen the Bourdain ep about mussels, I almost definitely feel like they probably aren't cleansing them right. It's way too expensive for the for the food you're getting, four or five years ago this place could pass for pretty decent in Pittsburgh, but now it has decision to make, step it up and invest more in kitchen talent, ingredients and service or keep the prices the same, or lower the prices and call a spade a spade.
The last time I went I was reluctant since the time before that had been satisfactory at best but my friend already had a groupon and so it certainly wasn't going to break the bank. And of course I ordered the fruits de mersdishand it was all too...chewy, buttery but chewy and not much else flavor, I think there was supposed to be a white wine sauce but I really couldnt' taste it. And her filet came out way over done, def not a medium rare and yet it all came out very fast. Which is never a complaint, but it seemed like maybe most of the dish was just waiting to get reheated. I'm not sure. I would hate to see this place go the way of La Casa, but I think it already is. The servers are very nice though, so I hope for them Brasserie can work it out.
