  • First of all, let's start with the most obvious part to me about this place: the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The conservatory was breathtaking. Fresh flowers, fountains, soothing music, all in a Chinese new year theme. This is one of prettiest hotels I've ever seen, starting from the lobby where there was a lifesize silver sparkly horse and of course there are those stunning flower sculptures overhead. They obviously pay attention to detail here. I also found all the employees to be friendly, polite, and helpful. We had a suite and it was really pretty. It had 2 1/2 bathrooms, including a big tub and a shower with steam (though I never got the steam to work but my husband says it just takes a long time). Cleanliness was good too and we had an impressive view of all the beautiful pools. The kids loved the pool, which is heated. I was happy to see that unlike other hotels on the strip we've stayed at, the pool was open even though it's winter. Coming from Michigan, we couldn't believe we were swimming in January!! Well, let's not get crazy here. The KIDS were swimming in January. I won't go near a pool if it's less than 85 degrees out but I'll admit that I'm a wimp. My complaint is the outrageous rip-off prices throughout the hotel. Not the room itself, but most everything else. A small coffee at the pastry shop where they have the chocolate fountains is $4.25. Not a latte, not a macchiatto or triple shot whatever. A regular, plain coffee. It was good, and I enjoyed it more than Starbucks. But come on! The Cafe Bellagio was very expensive as well. There is nothing cheap on the menu. At all. Be prepared to spend easily $100 for breakfast for a family of 3-4. Now don't get me started on the hotel frig. Everyone knows the snacks and drinks in a hotel refrigerator are overpriced. That is a given. But $18 for a Fiji water?? And here is the most shocking part: if you store anything in the frig (your own leftovers or water you bought for $8 somewhere else on the strip)....you are subject to a $50 restocking fee! All in all I would recommend the Bellagio if you can afford it. But watch out, because unless you win the jackpot, you could easily come out broke at this place!
