  • I enjoyed the show but maybe this isn't the thing for me. Personally, I like seeing acrobatics, stunts, big colorful displays etc. I also much more enjoy some sort of story to go along with it. I'm not a fan of just watching stuff happen for an hour and a half. I suppose everything was a dream? After all, the show is called La Reve - The Dream. I just wanted more about the bad guy, or who was good, or what the hell might be happening at any point. There are points in the show that are awe inspiring just on what the performers are doing, so I don't mind not having story there. But there are slower parts, so I wanted some connection. I've seen other french inspired acrobatic shows (KA, O) and these shows have these points. KA has it (slight spoilers: the shadow puppet scene or the falling into water stuff) and O has slightly less potent stuff (slight spoilers: clowns on a house in the ocean). This show, you see the two protagonists and then...well...I guess that's it? They have brief moments but it's doesn't inspire any emotion in me. Honestly, they were just dancing around. Maybe it's just me. The music is not as inspired as other shows. The music didn't seem to fit at points and sometimes was honestly too loud. If you sit in the first row, you will probably get wet. I got soaked at one point. The good side of sitting front row: the performers sometimes interact with you. Thought that was an interesting touch. For me, the water stuff was cool. If you want to see people do more things in water than you thought could be done, this is an amazing show for you. If you wanted more substance than people doing tricks in water, this may not be for you.
