Gorgeous building - an old bank transformed into a stylish coffee shop with workspaces, meeting rooms available for hire and quiet study 'booths.' It is the ideal place for start-ups to meet & work whilst enjoying a good cup of coffee and eats.
The minute I walked in through the antique brass revolving-doors, I was in awe of the grandeur and ambiance of this very large space. You could almost visualise the hustle and bustle of The RBC bank in the Roaring Twenties.
What's not to love about quality coffee and freshly prepared treats whilst being surrounded by decorative walls and ornate high ceilings in incandescent lighting?
We went on a Sunday afternoon for coffee and there was not a free seat in sight... I guess it was a busier time but I think once you get comfortable at Crew, then there's no leaving any time soon! What can I say, it is a captivating spot! I liked the atmosphere, not too noisy but not too quiet either.. we just went to relax and have a coffee but the majority were glued to their laptop screens.
I love the very modern and techy vibe which almost juxtaposes with the heritage architecture. You can place your order beforehand, using the cool tablets or your phone and reserve your booth or meeting room online.
We didn't stay very long as it was a beautiful day and I prefer sitting at Crew for long on darker, gloomier days as the lighting is dim and mellow. You can really feel the brightness hit you once you leave the place - almost as if you just woke up!
Overall, stunning place with good coffee. A must to check out this Montreal wonder, even just for a visit!
