  • My husband and I decided to take a break from Sunday chores to play a nice round of mini golf to enjoy the (finally!!) nice weather. We had previously driven past signs for the Vietmeier Golf Center and wanted to check it out. The round was very affordable at $5 per person and we were only the second couple there, so we could play at our own pace. The staff inside the golf shop was very friendly and the course was not your typical easy putt for a par 2. It was fairly creative and required some strategy. However, that's where all of our positive feedback ends. The state of the course was atrocious, with grass uncut, prolific weeds, and mud on many of the holes. Several holes were missing their tee pads and a number had chunks of turf missing from overzealous golfers(?). The course appears to be partly finished, with multiple designs in mid-completion. There was standing water in the nearby grass that attracted numerous bugs, including hungry mosquitos. With each hole, we were shocked at how poorly maintained the grounds were - and by the state of the immediate surrounding, it appeared to proceed our rainy June. Even the landscaping around the building wasn't attractive, neat or well maintained. While we appreciated the challenge of the course, we did not appreciate the numerous bug bites that we left with, nor the unkempt environment. We agreed that while this course has potential, the owners aren't living up to it, and we won't return in the near future.
