| - Unfortunately I just had my first and last experience at 7 day spa and nails. I went in as a walk in to have a new gel/shellac manicure, which in its entirety costs $50 prior to tip.
While cleaning under my nails she managed to break skin which wasn't comfortable. After the initial removal of the gel (which she did by filing the top of my nail down with an electric file rather than using the acetone solution needed to remove shellac) She put primer for fake nails on my toes, which was labeled incorrectly and was not supposed to go on. It began to burn, which increased throughout the pedicure, which made it uncomfortable (the opposite of enjoyable/relaxing, which a pedicure should be). I told her my toes were burning, then she decided to fess up on the mistake. At this point I was a little angry. By the end, when they hadn't apologized or done anything to try and fix the problem, I had politely asked for a price adjustment due to the discomfort. Most places would have been understanding and fine with this, however they began to tell me that it was just a little primer and would stop hurting soon. They also said that to adjust price was unfair to me because the woman had spent to much time on my nails. They told me they would only discount $5.
It baffles me that an establishment would mess up, causing discomfort, basically blame it on the customer, and then offer next to nothing to make up for it. I didn't want to get away scott free, I just wanted a little price break because I didn't feel I was getting my money's worth. It's funny how you can have bad service at a restaurant and get a whole meal free without a fight from the establishment. However, if you come here and then have bad service, don't expect jack.
