The Downstairs Bar is a neighborhood spot with a loungey vibe -- rare for off-Strip and Henderson. It's VOX without the pretentious servers and menu, Fado without the overpriced beer. It features big, comfy couches, flat-screen TVs and a curvy serpentine bar that's inviting and fun to sit at and gamble or talk to the bartenders. Which brings me to the staff. They're friendly without fail and keep refilling your glass if you're running just a little money through the bartop machines. They also seem to know when you're looking to chat a little and when you just want to sip your drink and play. Sadly, the business it has been generating doesn't seem to match what it has to offer. I'd recommend this bar to anyone venturing to this part of the valley.
