Progressive Field is a great ball park and downtown Cleveland is a great area for it. I love the role that ball parks have had in revitalizing the urban core in cities that were decaying in the 80's and 90's.
1st, "The Jake" was stop # 17 on my tour of MLB Parks with my 8 year old son. He loved the vibrancy of the downtown area before the game and he commented that people must really love baseball in Cleveland because there were so many people with Indians gear walking around the city.
Inside the park, the field and surrounding area is wonderful and every seat in the park was filled. The ball park has a nice kids areas in right field that was totally free for game spectators (Shocker!). The play area consisted of batting cages and a cool base-sliding practice area that all the kids seemed to really enjoy.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is also withing walking distance of the Ball Park, make sure to make some time to visit if you are traveling to Cleveland for a game!
